Tonight I walk the alleys of the city of the past. And I see the dim beams of a nearby streetlight cast Shadows in the dust upon the barren windowsill Of the long abandoned house in which we used to live. I run my finger in the dust upon the bygone year And rediscover 'neath the dust forgotten smiles and tears.
We used to Sing a song of love together in our happy home And run and jump and roll in fields in which we loved to roam. We wandered hand in hand together 'neath the shady trees; I loved you and you loved me too, and so I loved you three.
We made our home within this house's strong protective walls; And here we kept our love, and here we shared in all. But soon you found the walls confining, and you had to roam; And so you packed your travel bags and left our happy home. I couldn't stay alone, and so I too went on my way. And every now and then I think our paths may cross someday.
And we will Sing a song of love together as we lightly roam And run and jump and roll in fields which we will call our home. We'll wander hand in hand together 'neath the shady trees; I'll love you and you'll love me too, and so I'll love you three.
