Jessica's Rag
When
my niece, Jessica, was taking piano lessons, she used to come around to
practice on my piano. I enjoyed listening to her practice the
pieces her teacher had provided, especially one simple ragtime
arrangement. I have always loved ragtime, especially the works of
Scott Joplin. I was inspired by this to compose a simple ragtime
piece in the style of Scott Joplin, (I think I may have even stolen
some of his phrases,) but simple enough for even me to play.
